Free-OP Illustrations
Free-Op was inspired from Op art and 60s fashion. Josef Albers was my favorite artist at that time, and I always appreciated his simplicity and strong color choice that he produced in his "Homage to the Square" paintings. Those are some elements of his design that I wanted to incorporate into my collection. Another artist I was inspired by was Bridget Riley, who is known for her bold optic illusions. As I started sketching, I knew I wanted to play with different prints that would mimic the black and white illusions she successfully creates.
